The Mockery of Education
The Devil in Indo-US Afghan Policy
The ancient French/German wisdom in political negotiations proclaims that: “The devil is in the details.” A very true, extremely accurate proclamation. Pakistan found out “the devil in the details” in the Kerry-Lugar Bill and the US-brokered National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO). It has discovered “the devil in the details” in its IMF negotiations and its loans conditionalities, and it will ...
The General’s Support
I have written extensively about the nature of our elite based politics, and social system. However analysis needs to be understood in terms of the changing social structure. The changing social construction is juxtaposed to the stationary one. I shall discuss both forms of this structure in this essay, and link it to the apolitical youth and their allegiance to the military.
We Should Sometimes Thank America
Like it or not, many Pakistanis and their numbers are rising rapidly believe that the drone attacks by the Americans in the FATA region are justified and they support these attacks. We all know that our military and the government are also on board in that regard and they know the blow which these drone struck to the terrorists, but due to the political compulsions, they dare not to speak the ...

3. What position would the PML-N take on the NRO in parliament? Would it vote for it, against it, or abstain?

Jamat-e-Islami Referendum Results
After reading the results of referendum regarding Kerry-Lugar Bill flashing through the slides of TV channels, facilitated by Jamat-e-Islami, I laughed so hard that I fell off my chair. Goodness me, Gosh!. Results are:
22 Million people casted the vote.
19 Million disapproved the Kerry Lugar Bill.
Kerry Lugar Stays There, Media Moves Away to Greener Pastures
TV Talk shows have found other topics and the nation is still fumbling with the trail of debates which raged for weeks on the media channels and newspaper columns and it seemed that the media anchors will fight till their last breath to get the Kerry-Lugar Bill revoked.
Now the latest news is that without any change the Kerry Lugar Bill has been signed and the Pakistani cabinet has also ...
